Dr Friederike Ernst is the COO of Gnosis, a Gibraltar based blockchain startup building decentralized infrastructure on top of ethereum. Gnosis also holds a license from the GFSC for offering prediction markets on real world events to retail users. Beside her position at Gnosis, Friederike is co-host of the long running and very popular weekly blockchain podcast Epicenter as well as a founding member of the German Blockchain Association and its first secretary-general (2017-19).

Friederike trained as a physicist and after her PhD worked in fundamental research for several years, first at Columbia and then at Stanford, before dedicating herself to blockchain technology full time. For her, the appeal of blockchains is in both the fundamental newness of the base technology as well as the business and societal shifts that will become possible with their adoption.
